Won-ton cups are all the rage in the Bariatric Community. They’re “just a bite” so those that are watching their carbs can have one, without going over their daily allowance. They also help with portion control, holding about 1/4 C of filling each. Want to know how to make these quick and easy WLS staples? Here’s a step-by-step tutorial just for you!

Won Ton Cup Necessities!

Here’s what you need to start:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F).

Gather the following:
A muffin tin
Some good cooking spray (I have an affinity for the butter flavor kind)
Some won tons or egg roll wrappers.

Since all I had on hand was the egg roll wrappers, I’m going to show you how to make them with these. If you have won ton wrappers, you can cut out the “cutting out” portion of this tutorial!

Fold your egg roll wrapper in half lengthwise ...
... then again
... until you see the scores in the middle.

On a clean surface that you can cut on, lay out your wrapper.
Now, fold in in half one way …
Then the other. Unfold it.
See the lines in the middle? That’s where you’re going to cut!

Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, cut along the scored lines to get four pieces.

Cut Into Fourths
Tuck them into your muffin tin

Make sure your muffin tin is well coated with cooking spray (or lubricant of your choice – butter, olive oil, coconut oil … whatever you use that fits your lifestlye!).
Tuck each square into it’s own tin and spray the top with more spray, or brush with a little more oil.
Put into your 350 degree oven and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the edges start to brown nicely.

When they’re done, take them out of the muffin tins and let them dry on a wire rack. This is a very important step because this is what will help them crisp up! When they’re done, they should look like this (without the green onions …):

VOILA!
